I go to India atleast once every year and I agree that the urban infrastructure has changed a lot. But, such a change has created overcrowding in major cities which has lead to heavy pollution, rocketing inflation, high cost of living, and what not. You can get anything you want - best education, best food, best best best .... if you can afford.
During one of the trips couple of years back I did a casual interview at a huge software giant in Chennai just to guage how well I will fit. This was for a programming job in C++. Interview was rookie, intrerviewer was surprised why I want to come back because people actually seek such companies as route to US or UK and also made me feel that I may not be satisfied with the job if he has to offer.
So here is the thing. If you want to go back and lead a good life - I think it is a good idea provided you have very good education and experience and you get into the league of executives or you want to set up some booming business.
If you want to go back and work at a managerial level - you may not find things that interesting because of the affordibnility factor.
It is totally upto you to decide. If you look at urban infrastructure, India is developing, but in my opinion, the only way India can develop as a nation is by bringing about a change from the grassroots - change in beliefs, politics, innovations, products , hygene, uniform standards of living etc....

I read in one of the Ron's post -CHc trying to stop even small immigration bills which has no amesty in it.So even the nurse recapture bill is at stake.
So ,I'm sorry -I beleive no one will even touch our case.Apply in EB2 port PD or get new PD either will be helpful .But seeing new backlog for I 140 its terrible.
I might apply for Canadian GC-Having kids here ,man they are adapted to this country living.That's the only thing bothering - kids future.
So this bill this year is at stake for sure.No one cares ...including change-what change there woudnt be any change in new party too.Its all drama going.I lost the trust.Its as if EB3 is not educated.
I'm just wondering-Will this problem be there if it were for ROW-or is it our color...that they dont want to aid.It's sure racism.
How many EB3 are there in total...Who asked them to flood the applications last year? :mad:
Its bloody hell out here.no wonder some people become saddist later half ...who woudnt when they are treated like this from begginning.

EB2 guys have been diverted from participating in any campaign now.so no bothering congressmen.
I have mailed to Senator Menendez -NJ thanking him for introducing the new bill and to do the needful.So far no news.

I have my sister in law from India on H4. She got married after her husband got his 797B approved and so she does not have her own 797C. The DMV wants her own 797C approval notice to give her a temporary drivers license. How does she get that? Can she file some petition with USCIS to get it?

Not true. Whatever they can outsource, its already gone. There are certain position where the clients demand onsite resource. I am not supporting this bill in anyway, I hate infy as much as I hate this bill. Remember these companies did not leave any stone unturned, milked the client every possible way and expoilted the employees to the maximum extent. In one another post - VLDRao was saying these companies does the tax filing on behalf the emoloyee, get the refund and again claim that tax in india using double taxation aoivdance treaty.
My wife works in a company where a good number of IT folks are staffed by INFY. The poor quality of work made the company think about not extending INFY's contract. But then it came out in the open that there was no documentation on how the applications were built, etc. INFY got wind of this, and now they have positioned themselves in the organization where without them, this company's IT would collapse.
There are many such stories of outsourcing firms that are holding client companies hostage. Though I do not agree with the bill, I think the bill brings back some ethics into play. Especially the L1 loophole.

for handsfree , you could either do it through accountant or legalzoom.com once you set up the company, you need to get your Federal tax id for the company, then file for any local city business license ( few cities have that requirement), Open a bank account...

Landed July 1997.
Couple of contracting jobs with a desi bodyshopper(read it as a blood sucker). Believed him for almost 4 years of false promises that they will do GC processing. Finally quit the company and joined a major HMO company. Started the GC paper work in early Jan 2002. Due to the attorney screw ups, and wrong documentation, filed the labor in EB3 (did not even know that upto almost 2 years after filing, was thinking it was filed in EB2) in Jan 2003. Yes, it took 1 year for attorney's screw ups to be rectified. In that company, we were not allowed to talk directly to the lawyer and had to go thru the employer. So to get a simple answer would take 10-15 days. Wish IV was there then. Waited in Labor Processing for 4+years. 140 approved in early 2007. Filed 485 in july fiasco and got EAD, from then changed 2 jobs (got that freedom atleast). Per my own estimate, I should be receiving my GC sometimes in 2015. Current employer will not do GC processing , so no chance of filing for Eb2. I dont want to change employers even if it costs my GC, because, I am enjoying the work that I am doing. And in my opinion thats important because, I would rather be in a job that I enjoy more without GC than being in a job that I do not like with GC. So, 13 years and still going. Completed PMP, MBA meanwhile. Thats my story.

I'm telling them my condition, and I know there are lot of people in the same boat. Again you need to talk to the lawyer about GC cost. Emplyee can bear all the GC related cost.

We ( I and my wife) applied I-485, AP and EAD on July 26th, 2007 got recipt on Sep 26 th,2007. Finger printing done on Oct 31, 2007. My wife got her EAD and AP( 11/09/2007) and I got my EAD but my AP is not approved yet. I contacted with Texas Service center and they told that our (for me and my wife) namecheck and finger printing have been cleared. But my AP is pending because of background check. I asked is it different kind of check , she said yes but as usual could no tell how long it usuallky take to complete this kind of check and also when this background check has been requested.
I need to travel in January. Does anyone has the same situation ? Has anyone have any idea about what type of background check they are doing and how long it will take to complete ?
