In the last two months, while the priority dates were current for several applicants from India in the EB2 category, the applications with later priority dates and later receipt dates got their I-485 approved by USICS. This has generated a great anxiety among those who have been waiting patiently in the line before them.
I being one such affected person, is sending you this letter with a ???? as a symbol of my protest and hope that USCIS will deal fairly with all the applicants in the order of priority and receipt dates of their I-485 applications.

Not true. Anybody donates will get Donor status. This is started for last few days, so people who donated in last few days get this. Pappu mentioned that he is planning to cross reference this with old donations but not sure whats happening there.

Great news for EB2 folks.
If EB2-I moves to June 2006 then EB2 C will almost be in the same or better position. So June 2007 bulletin folks aka EB2-C (Jan 2006) will be the main beneficiary. EB2 I folks who are lucky with RD before the current processing dates (mid July) can expect surprise mails. Good luck

I doubt how effective a letter campaign would be.
We did letter campaign's couple of times and it didn't bring any coverage or change.
I still believe a clock (backward or distorted) is a good idea.
It is not letter only, it is sending pamphlets along with the letters which is meant to put them to shame. (zero cost). Please see the sample pamphlets from my earlier posts.

I do not think CIS has that much smartness in them. Different sections seem to go about the motions on their own schedule. They seem to be an uncoordinated bunch so far.
How do you explain push for EAD approvals before June 30th? ppl got approvals in matter of days (in most cases less then 20 days)

I have a suggestion we need to meet the senators office in person and also try to get more visibility in terms of getting exposed to media may be channels like
a) AZN TV
b) India waves
c) CBS
d) NBC
Since we have hired Quinn & Gillispie we need to understand whats their strategic plan and what they have in plate for us. We need to have vision in front of us. All I am trying to say is identify the senators who would favor the CIR/SKILL Bill etc and have the immigrationvoice.org volunteers meet them in person. Some of the things I have mentioned may be redundant but, I wanted to make my point clear, calling the senators office just a week before with phone calls webfaxes etc is not just bearing any fruits as we have learnt from our past experiences.
I would request the senior members of IV to have a one-one meeting with Quinn& Gillispie and later update all the members here.

My point - I am going to take things in a stride, basically wait till I can - doesn't hurt me as long as I go about my daily routine.
All who are thinking of jumping the fence and giving up, one piece of advice - if you do not have kids and plan to have any in this life, please do it NOW - have them be born here (all of them) and then move on with whatever / wherever you want to go.
At least this is a gift you will be giving your kids for their lifetime and all the generations following them (remember - a US citizen's kid can be a US citizen no matter where he/she is born) - so you will be arranging US citizenship for all your great^n * grand * kids (0 <= n <= infinity) !
This is how I think about it when I do not think about MYSELF. Once the kids are born, you can flaunt their American Passports and feel happy in their well-being and security (for whatever it is worth) and move on to Canada / India / Singapore / wherever! Live happily.
And do not forget your kids can sponsor you when they are 21.

There is another thread on this same topic that presents a discussion on how the ammendment was not rejected per se, but it was more like including the ammendment that was rejected.
From the daily dairy (thomas.loc.gov):
"By 55 yeas to 40 nays..Senate rejected the motion .. with respect to Cornyn Amendment No. 2339 (to Amendment No. 2327), to provide interim relief .... Subsequently, the point of order that the amendment, was not germane, was sustained, and the amendment thus fell."

Doing state chapters through list servs is just not working out.
Most people here just want to discuss but when it comes to action - you will notice that they would not even give out their proper name to IV while registering - so mobilizing is not as easy as discussing it here.
Discussion forums are good because ideas emerge here - ideas are needed for execution and discussing pressing issues must lead us towards a path to execution.
The question is - can all those who do that talk actually walk the talk?

How do you guys get this daily update.. going by this, it will take them 2 months just to clear first 2 days of july - even after assuming all receipts issued are for I-485 cases, which is far from truth!

I think most of the guys n gals will be busy with their paper work for I-485, 765 and 131. I am guessing once the dust settles most of them will come back and contribute generously.
I know most of you know the magnitude of impact IV has in the decision of the reversal of July 2nd update.I am in my 8th year of H1B and I wish IV has arrived 2 to 3 years back, but I am happy better late than never.
Thank you IV and I very much appreciate you keeping the cool when people started second guessing after the AILA update that the situation is 'Fluid'.

Ignore these kind of posts. If you check his profile, he just joined yesterday and this is his only post. Many ppl who were banned from IV paint this false image of the core, but we all know better than that. Ignore and move on.

I was very busy till today.
I'll call all the #s tomorrow and let them know how important is the CIR for legal immigration, and how I am not able to buy a house, or start a company, as I have no greencard inspite of waiting for 8-10 years. Not to forget I am from India and it is severely backlogged. Also we have jobs, so we're not taking away anything.
I have to be very brief. So please let me know if I'm missing any impo point.
Just follow what pappu has said on the first page. We need to stay on message.
