Alternative is invoke AC21 to a know company, who can support your feature GC and continue to work to any employer by transferring your H1B.

Hi
With the current market crisis, you never know when you will be out of job.
Though I have my H1B valid till 2011( my I140 is approved and is already over more than six months, 485 is pending), Most of the people suggesting me to apply for EAD.
1) What are the procedures I have to maintain ( in connection to USCIS and my green card application pending) if I change employer?
2)Can I also work for multiple employers on EAD?
Thanks in advance.

I applied for the I-140 and I-485 at the same time last October 9th 2009. I was requested an RFE in February of 2010 which they received back in March before the deadline. The RFE was looking for some basic info. I am still awaiting a response to the RFE or approval of the I-140. My job is currently going through tough times and there are rumors I will be laid of on April 30th. My question is that after April 9th(180 days after i filled I-140 and I-485) can i move jobs to a similar role before my I-140 is approved and if so what do i need to do.
Thanks
Dave
Thanks

Just a month after her appointment as the DHS official charged with overhauling the immigration detention system, Dora Schriro announced she is leaving the position to become the director of corrections for the City of New York. The New York Times reports that Schriro is leaving to care for a sick family member in New York. The Times' Nina Bernstein discussed the impact of the departure on reform efforts: Immigrant advocates who learned of her imminent departure from a reporter expressed dismay and concern that the ambitious overhaul announced by the Obama administration last month would be delayed, if not...

USCIS has not extended its temporary accommodation for delays in the labor condition application (LCA) process. Earlier, USCIS agreed to accept H-1B petitions without a certified LCA, in certain situations, for a limited time. This exception was available from November 5, 2009 to March 9, 2010. The USCIS has declined to extend this exception. Accordingly, all H-1B petitions must be filed with the certified LCA otherwise USCIS will deny the H-1B petition or extension.
Hence, it again is necessary to have an Approved LCA in place for the proper location at the time of the H-1B filing. The reason the exception was not extended is that the DOL assured USCIS that LCAs are being processed within the required seven-day processing time. The DOL, in fact, stated that LCAs are being processed within four to five days which is in fact true as well. It is our suggestion to plan accordingly.

Friends,
Need quick help!
Per old instructions everyone was sending to Nebraska, and new instructions published are for 'direct filing'.
Do I follow direct filing rule or Nebraska only rule?
I am finally ready with medicals and photos and will be sending packet tomorrow.
Thanks for help..

What should be filled for question 16 in I765 form.
My lawyer asked me to fill C C 9, but the instruction says C 9. Which is correct.

My friend Tamar Jacoby of ImmigrationWorksUSA joins former Mexican Foreign Secretary Jorge Castenada in writing in today's Washington Post about what could be the biggest area of division in the coming reform debate - how to handle future workers. Some are proposing to put off discussions of this topic until the economy improves or to set up a commission to deal with the issue. Here is what Jacoby and Castenada have to say on the subject: When the economy begins recovering, U.S. housing starts will climb, restaurants will fill up again, Americans will take the vacations they've been putting off...

Hello everyone,
I obtained my F1 visa in Aug,2001 for 5 years and I initially came here for M.S. I have continued for PhD in 2003 and visited India every two years. My F1 expired in Jul,2006 but my I-20 is valid until Dec,2008.The real problem is that I have applied for Canadian PR this Oct and expecting to get it by Oct,2008.
Once I get my PR, I have to go to Canada for Visa stamping and my questions are related to this:
1) Since my F1 expired, Can I come back to US after PR stamping, without needing an F1 visa.?
2) Is it advisable to get my F1 visa stamping in India or Canada next year i.e in Oct 2008, or would it be too late? (since that would be two years after visa expiry).
PS: I wanted to get my F1 stamping only if it were necessary to go to India.
Any suggestions would help me a lot and thanks so much in advance.

Pro-immigration advocates can come from the conservative movement just as they can come from the liberal camp. And just as there is an internal battle on the left (labor protectionists often seize on anti-immigration positions), there is also a battle on the right between the pro-business, small government advocates and the xenophobic America first crowd who usually couch their arguments in terms of law and order (though if you dig a little, you'll find that these folks are usually against liberalizing rules to make legal immigration easier). Right wing Talkradionews.com reports on efforts by a Latino group to attract conservative...
